Hello Pet Families and Friends,

As the creator of “The Bella Harness” and a devoted dog mom, I want to share the story behind our unique four-legged body harness. A few years ago, I was at a beautiful park on the Northshore coast of Massachusetts with my beloved Bella, a dachshund/jack Russell terrier mix that I adopted from an animal shelter when she was just four months old. As we enjoyed the breathtaking ocean views, Bella, then attached to a regular frontal harness, unexpectedly slipped out of her harness while trying to join me on a bench. I was terrified as we were close to the cliff’s edge, and I instinctively fell to my knees to grab Bella – it was the scare of my life.

That moment made me realize that such a dangerous situation could occur anywhere, even while simply walking down a busy street. It could happen to any of us if something attracts our dog’s attention and they pull away from us. Fueled by my love for Bella and my desire to ensure her safety, I decided to design a harness that would provide both comfort for our pets and peace of mind for us, the pet owners.

On September 1, 2019, I put my idea into action. I sat at my kitchen table and sketched a design for a four-legged harness. My goal was to create something that would secure both the front and hind legs, as well as reducing tension off their neck and shoulders, aligning their back in uniform, and eliminate the chances of them slipping out. This was the start of “The Bella Harness,” a testament to our commitment to our pets’ safety. The patent for this unique design was granted in November 2023, as well as the registered trademark.
